Gianluca Rossetto

I was born in Treviso (Italy) on August 14, 1983. I have always been very interested in foreign languages since I attended scuola media (which corresponds to junior high school in the U.S. and to junior secondary school in Great Britain) at the public school “Scuola Media Statale Luigi Coletti”.

For this reason, I undertook a course of studies in which two foreign languages were taught English and French. After I completed this course of studies, I attended the “Liceo Linguistico Europeo” (which corresponds to high school in the US and secondary school in Great Britain) at the ”Istituto Canossiano Madonna del Grappa” in Treviso, at which I studied together with English and French German too.

After I completed this course of studies, I moved to Udine and enrolled at the faculty of  “Foreign Languages and Literatures” at the “Università degli Studi di Udine”(Udine University), at which I studied English, German, and Spanish as third foreign language. During my university education, in the summertime of 2005, I went to Prien am Chiemsee, a small village near Munich, where I attended a German course at the “Goethe Institute”, at which I took and passed the “Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung“ examination.

On November 6, 2007, I obtained my first level degree (i. e. my Bachelor’s degree) in “Foreign Languages and Literatures”(English and German). My final grade was 102/110.

(110 with honors is the best degree grade according to the Italian university grading system, and my degree grade corresponds to 60% (Upper Second-Class Honors, according to UK university grading system and to an A – according to US grading system).

In 2008, I enrolled in the ”Specialist and Multimedia Translation” Master’s degree course at the faculty of “Foreign Languages and Literatures” at the “Università degli Studi di Udine”(Udine University), branch of Gorizia. From June 2010 to July 2010, I did my training as a translator at the “Language Service” translation agency in Keutschach (Austria), where I translated several texts belonging to different fields from German into Italian, from Italian into German, and from German into English, to the greatest satisfaction of the translation agency manager.

On October 11, 2010, I obtained my Master of Arts in “Specialist and Multimedia Translation”. My final grade was 100/110.(110 with honors is the best degree grade, according to the Italian university grading system, my degree grade corresponds to 60% according to UK grading system, and to an A- according to US grading system).
